Tugasa Hotel Vejer De La Frontera

The building dates back to the 17th century and was initially a convent for Poor Clare nuns and later for Franciscan monks. It still retains the simple and understated atmosphere established by its original residents. Each communal space has its unique character, from the choir room to the reading and leisure room, featuring choir stalls and replicas of the original frescoes. The convent chapel and cafeteria still showcase remnants of the original frescoes. The Hotel Convento San Francisco is situated in the historic center of Vejer de la Frontera, designated as a historic artistic monument since 1978. The hotel is perched atop a hill, providing panoramic views of the dried-up Laguna de la Janda, the Barbate River at its feet, and the El Palmar and Cape Trafalgar coasts.
