Visitors can also rent snowmobiles to explore the area's 600 km snowmobile routes. Ruka boasts one of the longest ski seasons in Europe, typically running from October to June. Ruka becomes a hub for hiking and mountain biking during the warmer months, with the Oulanka National Park and the renowned 50-mile Karhunkeiros hiking trail nearby.
