It is just an hour drive to Teide National Park, where you can enjoy a short cable car ride to the peak, which offers panoramic views across the island. El Marques is on the southwest coast of Tenerife Island in a sun-drenched bay just a ten-minute walk uphill from the hustle and bustle of Los Gigantes. Puerto de Santiago still retains some of the old charm of its fishing village past, but there's plenty of fun things to do. Visit the pretty black sand beaches in cove-like settings nearby, or head inland to the Masca Valley, where you can admire the views over to La Gomera, or muse on the majestic peak of Mount Teide. Masca village is extremly picturesque and well worth a visit. You'll have a choice of every kind of restaurant you can think of, from Chinese to Tex Mex.
